Most of the time photography is a creative outlet for me. Most of the time I love what I do. Most of the time I want to run home and view the pictures I’ve just taken. Most of the time I want to stay up all night editing because I just. can’t. stop. Most of the time.

Sometimes, on an occasion, my job feels like a job. It could be compared to a writer’s block. My creative flow just isn’t there. To prevent this from happening, or to combat it when it does, I set up a shoot about something that interests me. This time around I chose sisters.

If you know me well, you might know that I don’t have any sisters. 6 amazing, talented, and strikingly handsome brothers, and zip. zero. zilch. sisters. I was old enough to remember the last 2 times my mom came home and dropped the bomb on me that she was having a boy. I cried, and cried, and cried on both occasions. I wanted a sister so bad.

My whole life I have been a bit obsessed with the relationship of sisters. All different types. This is my personal project to study the relationship of sisters.

In my mind all sisters are best friends. They call each other every day. They get together for lunch often. They are honest with each other when an outfit isn’t flattering. Sisters share clothes, share the latest make up tips, and they go on little get always together when they need a break. For sure they get pedicures at least once a month together. They cry together when either one is sad. According to Pinterest “If you have a sister you always have a friend.”

I photographed some of my stunning neighbors the other day. Sisters, of course. I hope they know they are lucky. Not because they are insanely beautiful, but because they always have a friend. Pinterest says so.
