I had the opportunity to do another shoot for Lashadore. Ever wanted amazing lashes without having to wear mascara? Lash extensions are storming the beauty industry and for good reason. For more information on how to schedule an appointment go here.
Laura was so much fun. Right off I felt totally comfortable around her. We have several siblings who had attended high school together so we knew a lot about each other prior to meeting.
Laura gave me “Free rein” to do whatever I wanted with her hair. I love LOVE to hear those words. We did a highlight and lowlight. The highlights obviously brightened her up a bit and helped pop her eyes. The lowlights have her all prepped for the fall/winter look. This also will allow her to go a bit longer in between colors helping to disguise her regrowth. I waxed her freshly plucked eyebrows to rid of those annoying blondies. This helped her makeup lay better and more naturally on her skin. I gave her a cut to flatter her beautifuly shaped face. Lastly, I curled her hair in messy waves with my flat iron which added volume and interest for her pictures.
Oh! I almost forgot the bangs. If someone has never tried a straight bang (5th grade does not count) I like to talk people in to them. They are such a fun and simple change! Laura had never tried them so of course I had her give them a try. She can totally rock them!
Because she has brown eyes I chose to use a splash of purple eye shadow on her eye lids. Brown and purple are very complimentary of each other. I chose to use black eyeliner as I was trying to encourage her eyes to stand out for the photos.
Staci is one of the winners of the “Mess” to “Model” contest. It was an absolute joy to work with her. She is just as sweet as her husband described in the nomination letter he wrote about her. I, of course, know this, but I wanted YOU to know it as well. Without further adieu, here is the new Staci!
I’ve been doing some commercial work for some of my neighbors. They own a baby accessories company called 500babies.com. They sell adorable headbands, tutus, leg warmers, etc.
Loni and I are friends from way back when. All I remember is that we thought we looked like identical twins. We totally tricked our parents one night and I almost got to live at Loni’s house for a while. I’m pretty sure I wish that I really was her identical twin; gorgeous! Her husband, Danny, is a dentist at Highland Dental Center. Check him out here.
Congratulations to Staci, and Laura!! They both will receive a make over and mini photo shoot with yours truly.
As I was counting the votes tonight I noticed some confusion of voting placement. I had to factor in more than just the ‘Likes’ on the actual posts. There were ‘Likes’ and comments EVERYWHERE. No complaints here! I was just happy people were voting! Because of this, I declared Staci and Laura both winners of the contest. I can. not. wait to work with these ladies.
Thank you all for participating and supporting these wonderful women.
Don’t worry, I didn’t leave the other 2 deserving participants empty handed. They both were awarded 50% off their next salon service at Salon V.
This is Konni.
Here is what she had to say:
I think the “Mess to Model” would be great for me because after having twins at 27 weeks and driving between 2 hospitals for 3 months after they were born I started to not worry/care about me anymore. I let myself go and have gone so far that I just don’t feel good about myself anymore.
My life is very busy and complicated. One of my twins has cerebral palsy. I spend most of my week driving to and from 2 physical therapist, 2 occupational therapist and 2 speech therapist to help him learn how to function with his disability. I have anywhere between 2 and 7 appointments a week just for therapy.
I’m at the beginning of a goal to be a healthier me which will help me be better in all aspects of my life.
Totally deserving, right? Vote for Konni here.
Staci was nominated by her husband. It was just too sweet to change anything:
This is Staci. To me, she always looks like a model, but she claims she’s a mess most of the time.
After having her fourth baby in five and a half years, she thinks she’s lost it, but I think she’s still got it.
She gets me to dye her hair, so we can spend our money on our family, rather than her. I think she cares about others more than anyone in the world.
She does her best to look great, and she always does look great, but swears she can only see spit up, messy hair, and bags under her eyes from being woken up 28 times last night. I see a beautiful woman that puts her family first.
She thinks she is a stay-at-home mom that isn’t making a difference. I think she is the anchor of our family.
She thinks she doesn’t know a lot when it comes to educating our kids. I think she is wise beyond her years.
I think she is a model already. I want her to see herself the way I see her, as a beautiful woman that is also kind, loving, tender, wonderful, loyal, self-sacrificing, and dedicated.
Vote here.
This is Angie.
Angie wakes up and feeds 4 kids by 7am. By 8:30 2 kids start their school work (pretty sure she home schools them) which gives her just enough time to change from her sweats to a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. It is not atypical for her to notice that she has some dried who knows what on her shirt but by the time she is done brushing her hair she doesn’t have time to change it. SO she will often grab a wet wipe (good thing she has those handy with 2 toddlers around) and does her best to clean off her shirt.
During the day she will change her shirt 2 or 3 times so her husband can see her as a beautiful woman, even if it’s for a few minutes. That’s until her 1 year old comes in from playing in the mud and that image of me is now gone.
Angie writes:
It would be nice to have a chance to look and FEEL like a woman. But the best part of this fantasy is to have proof that I can look like a lady for more than 30 minutes.
Deserving? I think so!
Laura is our first contestant in the “Mess” to “Model” contest.

Laura could us a pick-me up. As if having a baby doesn’t throw you for a loop in it’s self, Laura’s baby went straight to the NICU and was there for a month. He was 6 weeks early. Did I mention she was on bed rest in the hospital for 4 weeks prior to the delivery? Needless to say, Laura ,here, is a great candidate.
